Encourage researchers to engage in science communication, but also teach them how to do so. That's SciMingo's mission! In 2023, we once again threw our full weight behind it. Check out what we've accomplished in 2023 with the illustrative facts and figures in this infographicšŸ‘‡

For his master's thesis, architect Nicolas De Wispelaere (UGent) dreamed of more bathing water for Brussels. To this end, he designed three new swimming facilities at existing locations in the metropolis: in the RĆ©sidence Palace, under the tracks of the Brussels South Train Station and on the playgrounds of Brussels schools. His thesis earned him the Flemish Thesis Prize, worth 2,500 euros.

BRUSSELS - Scriptie vzw, theĀ organisation behind projects such as the Flemish Thesis Prize and the Flemish PhD Cup, will dissapear. The name, not the organisation nor itsĀ projects. 'We are spreading our wings under the new name SciMingo. With the ambition, more than ever, of coaching young researchersĀ in strong and balanced science communication,' says coordinator Arnaud Zonderman.

Would you like to share your research with people outside your field, but don't know how to start? Or do you already have some experience in science communication, but would like to develop your skills further? Then you can join our science communication academy this fall.

Science communication is in our DNA. That's why we asked biologist Marwa Kavelaars (PhD Cup 2020 participant) to share with you some scientific fun facts about theĀ flamingo, in response to our new name.

What did SciMingo - then still called Scriptie vzw - do in 2020? Well, we put the past year in an interactive infographic. Scroll through our facts & figures from 2020 hereĀ šŸ‘‡
